Michele O., Mae, and I went to New York last weekend where Michele ran in the New York Marathon. Mae, a N.Y. native, made the trip happen. She was our tour guide/den mother. The trip was a whirlwind. Although Mae and I were never able to find Michele along the route, we did see Santa, Batman and Robin, and Uncle Sam. Michele finished in 4 hours, 7 minutes, which was a great time. Mae and I ran about 27 miles that day in our attempt to find Michele. It was the first marathon I've ever watched, and it was amazing.(below: Michele with her number, Mae and Michele at the ferry to Staten Island, Batman and Robin) ed. comment: I didn't think it was fair that Michele had to run against Batman and Robin. Superheros should be in a separate wave.

Congrats Michelle and way to suck it up Mae! I'm sorry you couldn't run it but you certainly made the best of the situation it seems. Jamie, thanks for the photos and posts!
