Derby Marathon/mini, April 25, 2009

Several WNRs went to Louisville, Ky for the Derby Festival Marathon/Mini this weekend. Pete, Michele O., Sandra, and Todd ran the full marathon, and Rebekah (fresh off her Boston race!), Martin, Julie A., and I ran the half. It was Sandra's first full marathon, and she did great, despite the crazy hot weather on Saturday. The day before the race, we picked up our race packets and got to meet Dane Rauschenberg. Later that night, Julie swiped some chicken from the Colonel before we turned in early to get some sleep. The next day, the temp was 71 at 5:00 a.m., which didn't bode well. I, for one, was glad when it was over, but glad I did it.
